On a very special episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, London conspires to win the part of Sharpay in the school production of High School Musical—even though she can’t dance! The funny thing is that Maddie is better for the part...and that in real life, she’s played by the one and only Ashley Tisdale, who actually played Sharpay in the movie!

Ashley, can you tell us about this special Suite Life episode?
Ashley:
In the episode, the school is putting on High School Musical, which is like a lot of schools are doing right now. Maddie auditions for Sharpay because everybody says she looks like her! [Laughs] Maddie is all excited to go out for Sharpay but doesn’t get the part. London actually gets the part...London kind of got the role because of her dad and so she doesn’t sing very well. Maddie ends up singing for her, but behind the stage. Nobody knows it’s Maddie and then suddenly this whole big thing happens and then Maddie takes over the part of Ryan, too.

Do you do any songs in it?
Ashley:
We do “Bop to the Top” and at first I was nervous about it because I don’t want to lose the essence of “Bop to the Top.” It’s something that I’m very protective of the movie. Fans love that song, especially going on tour with it. On tour, it was the one song that me and Lucas had the exact outfits on from the movie so kids really, I think, enjoy “Bop to the Top.” I’ve been doing that song for two years now! [Laughs]
